Illegal Zero – This might come up
when the scale is first turned on, or when the zero button is pressed. (It
is most often followed by the scale returning to the original weight
reading on the scale.)
Possible Solutions
-
Refer to the Calibration Manual. Calibration step “-0- 23” sets
the zero range for the scale. This is the amount of weight that will be
allowed to be zeroed off and is normally set to the scales full capacity.
Any weight greater then the value entered in this step will give the
illegal zero error and not allow the weight to be zeroed off.
-
Refer to the Calibration and Programming manual. Calibration step
“Cnd 26” is a selection for setting the scale up to meet Canadian Weights
and measures specifications. This specification does not allow the scale
to zero more than 4% of the scale’s capacity. For U.S.
applications, the step should be set to “NO”.

If none of the above solutions work, or you are not comfortable
with doing the programming on your scale, contact your Pennsylvania Scale
