Load Cell Under load – There are two main reasons
why this error might come up. First the program or calibration may have
been lost.
-
To test for this, place a weight on the platform and see if
numbers come up on the display. If they do the problem is in the load
cell (Refer to the second possibility). If not, power the scale down and
then back up, if the scale begins to work again the program in the AD
converter chip has been lost. Powering down and back up will have
reloaded this information. (Most likely reason for this to have occurred
would be excessive static discharge in or around the scale. Contact your
Pennsylvania Sale distributor for information on how to control or
eliminate this.)
-
If the scale comes back with the under load error again, refer to
the calibration and programming manual and try to re-calibrate the scale.
If the scale remains in the under load condition after calibration, the
problem could be either a circuit board component failure or a defective
load cell. Contact your Pennsylvania Scale Distributor for service.
The
second possibility is that the zero reference on the load cell has
shifted negative to the point of giving an under load error. The load
cell could be damaged, or may have just drifted with time.
Possible Solutions
-
If, by placing weight on the platform, you can get numbers to
come up on the display, re-calibrating the scale may solve the problem.
Refer to the Calibration and Programming manual for calibration
information.
-
If
the Scale remains in under load even though weight has been placed on the
platform, contact your Pennsylvania Scale Distributor for service.
